Myrtle Beach Air Conditioner Repair

Beach Air is a comfort provider. If your home or business is in need of a Myrtle Beach air conditioner repair, we can help to make your home cool again. If your heat pump acts up in the winter, guess who will be there make your home nice and toasty again? If the ice machine at your restaurant decides to make water instead of ice, we make sure your customers can sit comfortably and sip on their ice cold beverage. With summer around the corner, here are a few things that you can do to make sure your air conditioning unit is performing the best that it can:

1. Safety First – Before working on a central air conditioner, always turn off the power to the condenser at your service panel inside of your home. If you already feel uncomfortable doing this, please give us a call at 843.796.3798.

2. Replace Your Filters – This may seem obvious, but most people forget to clean or replace air-handler filters. It is recommended to change these at LEAST twice a year or whenever they begin to look clogged with dust and debris. If you don’t, air flow will be restricted, reducing efficiency, and you will recirculate dust into your home. A clean home is a happy home!

3. Clean The AC Condenser Coils – To put this in the simplest form possible, do you know that metal box in your yard with the large fan inside? This is your central AC unit's outdoor compresser unit. It's important that the fan inside is clear of debris. Before going any further, please refer to #1. Once the power is off, you'll need to remove the side and top panels of the unit with a screwdriver or nut driver to be able to access the fan. Using the soft brush on a vacuum, gently clean the coils. Be careful not to damage the coils. Again, if you feel uncomfortable doing this, please call Beach Air!

4. Clean & Clear Debris – While the side and top panels are still off of the unit, scoop the leaves and debris out of the base of the condenser and make sure the drain is clear. Use a rag to clean the blower's fan blades. Cut any weeds or vines that may be obstructing airflow through the unit.

It's important to take care of your air conditioning unit, just as you would anything in your home. Living in the warm climate of South Carolina, this could be the most important appliance in your home. If you would like Beach Air of Myrtle Beach to come out and take care of this for you, just let us know and we would be more than happy to help!
