Sewer Line Installation and Replacement in Myrtle Beach, SC

When a sewer line has failed from one end to the other, replacing it costs less over time than patching it section by section. We put in new lines that are permitted, inspected and built to outlast the house.

When replacing beats repairing

Sewer line installation means putting in new pipe, either replacing a line that has failed or running one where there is not one yet. It is the better call when the camera reveals damage in multiple areas, the pipe is worn out, or the line has shifted enough to prevent proper drainage.

If you have already paid to fix this line twice, or a repair quote is getting close to what replacement costs, put the money into a new pipe instead. A new line with modern

materials and a proper bed under it should outlive you.

What Makes Sewer Lines Fail

Situations that call for a new line

  • A camera inspection shows cracks, offsets or roots in more than one place
  • The existing line is Orangeburg, deteriorated clay tile or corroded cast iron
  • The pipe has collapsed, or it has a belly that holds waste and cannot be cleaned out of it
  • Backups keep coming back after the line has been cleared more than once
  • An addition, a converted space or a new bathroom puts more demand on the line than it can carry
  • A new build, a detached structure or a septic to sewer conversion needs a line run

How an installation goes

  1. Look at what is there. A camera confirms the condition of the existing line and shows us where it runs, how deep it sits and where it ties in.
  2. Plan it and price it. You get the route, the pipe material and size, the slope, the tie in point and a firm price before anything starts.
  3. Permits and utility locates. We file the permit with the local authority and have buried utilities located and marked. Nothing gets dug until those marks are down.
  4. Open the trench. The trench follows the route, and we keep the work area as tight as the site and the depth allow.
  5. Install the line. New pipe goes in on a prepared bed at the right fall, gets joined, and connects to the house on one end and the city main or septic tank on the other. Cleanouts go in where code calls for them.
  6. Inspection. The local inspector looks at the work in the open trench before anything gets covered.
  7. Backfill and cleanup. The trench gets backfilled and compacted in lifts, so the ground does not sink on you later, and we put the surface back.

What we install

Almost every new residential sewer line goes in as PVC. Roots do not get through the joints the way they do with clay or cast iron. The materials do not corrode; it is smooth enough to keep solids moving, and it is rated to be buried.

Pipe size gets matched to the number of fixtures in the house, and the slope gets set so waste moves at the right speed. Too flat and solids settle out. Too steep and the water runs off and leaves the solids behind.

Those details are the difference between a line that lasts a few decades and one that gives you trouble in five. They are also why this work gets inspected.

Permits and inspections

Sewer work is permitted and inspected in our markets, and that is in your favor. Somebody with no stake in the job checks the work, the installation ends up on the property record, and you avoid the headache an unpermitted sewer line causes when you go to sell.

We pull the permit, schedule the inspection and are there for it. You do not have to chase any of it.

FAQs

  • How long does a sewer line replacement take?

Most residential replacements are one to three days of work on site. Permit approval and utility locates happen before that and can add a few days depending on the jurisdiction and how backed up they are.

  • How long will a new sewer line last?

A properly installed PVC line with the right bedding and slope is generally expected to last fifty years or more under normal residential use.

  • Will my yard be torn up?

There is going to be a trench, and the ground above it gets disturbed. We keep the work area as narrow as the site allows, we tell you ahead of time what has to be moved, and we backfill and grade when we are done.

  • Can I stay in my house during the work?

Usually yes. There are stretches where water cannot be run while the line is disconnected, and your technician will tell you when those fall.

  • Do I need a permit for a new sewer line?

Yes, and we handle it. Skipping that step turns into a real problem at resale.

  • Is financing available?

Ask about financing when you call and we will go over the options.

  • What does a new sewer line cost?

It depends on how long the run is, how deep it sits, what the soil is like, what is sitting on top of the route, and what your city requires at the tie in. We give you a written estimate after we have looked at the line instead of a number over the phone that changes later.

Lukas was quite friendly and personable but got to work on the heat pump fall maintenance check right away. He took time to look in the outside area that houses the condenser, cleaned out some gunk and got pipes flowing again. We are grateful that this service could be scheduled in our limited window of time at our vacation home.
