By definition, a resolution is a firm decision to do or not to do something. When it comes to your HVAC system, you most likely have to do something if you choose not to do something! That’s why we recommend that you are proactive in the next calendar year to prevent damage to your unit(s). Your favorite HVAC company in Myrtle Beach is back with more tips on how to have a healthier HVAC system in the new year.
Swap Out Your Air Filters
We may sound like a broken record, but we can’t stress enough how important this is. Air filters are relatively inexpensive and they take about a minute to change. The problem is that when they are out of sight, they are out of mind. We all have a smartphone nowadays, so set an alert on the first of the month to remind you to change your air filters. These filters prevent dirt, dust and other air particles from entering your system, which keeps it clean and prevents breakdowns. Five minutes once per month can save you hundreds of dollars in repairs.
Prevent Defense
You know how we mentioned about being pro-active next year? That’s where preventative maintenance comes into play. By signing up for a service agreement with Beach Air, you are entitled to two “healthy” check-ups per year. One of our techs will stop by your house and make sure everything is working as it should and will catch anything that may be an issue in the future and address it. Did we also mention that you should change out your air filters on a monthly basis?
Plan Ahead
80% of all New Year’s resolutions fail by February…which is kind of sad considering they started in January. Don’t let that be you. We trust that you can swap out your air filters and schedule your preventative maintenance visits to ensure that your HVAC system is running as it should during all seasons of the year. Next year, resolve to stay one step ahead of your system and you (and your home) will be happy.
