Prepare Your HVAC System For The Fall Season

For the past few months, our HVAC systems have been working endlessly to keep our homes and businesses cool. As we make the transition into the fall season, it’s important to provide your system with a little TLC. Below you will find a few items that we recommend doing to make sure everything is running in tip-top shape!

Clean Vents = Happy Vents

Dust and debris builds up in your system during the summer, so when fall comes around, it’s important to clean everything out. Here’s a fact that will blow your mind: 1/100th of an inch of dust on your coil and blower motor can equal up to 10% loss of efficiency. Can you believe that?!

Outdoor Unit: Clean It Up

Falling leaves, pine straw, dirt, twigs, etc. can all accumulate inside and around your outdoor unit. These can get lodged inside and can become a possible fire hazard. Make sure your unit is turned OFF before cleaning everything out.

Test Your Thermostat

If your thermostat responds properly and displays an accurate reading, then you are in the clear. If not, then we recommend calling in a professional like Beach Air to investigate the issue. A thermostat that does not correctly read will cause your HVAC to be overworked, which can raise energy bills.

Routine Maintenance Check

As you may or may not know, Beach Air offers service agreements for both commercial and residential customers. Twice annually, a Beach Air tech will visit your home or business to scope out your HVAC system to identify any issues that you may be having. These routine checks can prevent MAJOR issues from happening in the future.
